Gunilla Wahlström, founder of Hospital at Home Services at Department of Medicine, Capio S:t Göran's Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden.
In 2022, Medoma partnered with Capio S:t Göran's Hospital to launch a Hospital at Home (HaH) program, and thereby gain hands-on experience in decentralized care. By embedding our technology team within care operations, we directly addressed the needs of healthcare staff and patients. This close collaboration allowed us to refine our platform to solve real-world challenges, driving continuous improvement through direct feedback and shared insights.
The insights from operating a HaH program have reshaped our approach to home-based care. We've learned that advanced care at home isn’t limited to a select few—it can benefit most patients, regardless of age, background, or medical complexity. Patients consistently feel safer at home, where technology empowers them to take an active role in their care. HaH also proves to be resource-efficient, easing the burden on traditional healthcare settings when backed by seamless technology integration.
For more details, our clinical insights are shared in the scientific article Implementation of Sweden's first digiphysical hospital-at-home care model for high-acuity patients" and the report Hospital at Home – A Comprehensive Analysis of Care Models in the Home (available in Swedish).
Empowered by Medoma’s platform, the Hospital at Home program at Capio S:t Göran's Sjukhus, has accomplished impressive results in terms of both resource efficiency, user experience and quality of care.
